Did felicity by chance ignite the Occupy Wall Street Protest?
Inhabit Wall Street – For each of you who are unaware of the scenario, Felicity was the young lady who was detained this summer on wall street during the artwork performance Ocularpation. All of a sudden this Inhabit Wall Street protest flares up – Coincidence??? Perhaps but improbable: Ocularpation (which was an art project by Zefrey Throwell who was attempting to make a point that Wall Street lacks liability) sounds eerily similar to Occupy Wall Street as well as the location. So naturally Felicity and I went down to talk to the protesters. On our way down there we had to sit in traffic because the Wall Street protesters caused so much mayhem on the Brooklyn Bridge that the NYPD closed it down – not a good beginning but we pushed on.

Once we got there we found a group of individuals – Largely in their 20a?s – singing, holding up signs and chanting their distinct mantras. We were expecting to speak to the coordinators but couldn’t find out who they were. What we did find was a war room of laptops and individuals who were manning the stations kept on shouting that they wanted any footage of police brutality and arrests (rather in HD). After attempting to talk to some of the folks there (without making any headway) we determined to speak to some of the protesters. We talked to several individuals who appeared to be passionate about stopping the status quo on a complete mess of issues, but had no ideas about what should be done instead. Since I do concur that change is needed I kept begging with the protesters to give me something that I could take away from all of this. I just wanted to hear what they believe should be done to correct the any one of the list of issues which they felt needed to be coped with.

After about an hour or so we simply decided to leave empty handed and with no questions answered.
While I don’t comment frequently this is one topic that I simply can’t seem to let go of. Eventually there’s a group who are willing to take a stand and fight for change, but how could I support this kind of valiant effort when I don’t have any idea what they really believe in? Without any clear goals, no physical leadership, bench marks for success or unique thoughts on the way to better the state what would I really be supporting (and of course the fact which they appear to have a great deal of facts that are simply wrong)?

So in any case, I don’t have any idea if Felicity’s arrest had anything to do with it, but I sure hope not. Starting a massive demonstration of naysayers who appear to be fighting against everything and could be more joyful when the police are forced to intervene is not something that I ‘d ever put my name on. Distributing panic, inconveniencing the public and expecting for the following shot of someone getting slammed to the ground by authorities isn’t something I ‘m willing to support.

In closing I just want to include a few points. If these protesters care so much about the various issues then why haven’t they sent individuals to staff soup kitchens, clean up city parks or do anything that would impact the city absolutely They have probably cost the city millions by now so don’t you think it’s only http://nudismphotos.net/posts/my-girlfriend-does-the-same-and-does-never-wear-panties-either/ if they were to shoulder some of the weight by helping out the people of New York City? Or are they just going to continue yelling and crying till we NY’ers are forced to pay more in taxes to cover the expense they are creating?
As for Felicity – we still will not be overly sure why she was arrested, but she is due in court next month so send her lots of positive energies!
